My top 5 favourite wrestling moves

Hi, today I will be talking about my personal 5 favourite wrestling moves and why I like using them. MY 5 favourite wrestling moves are: the fireman, single leg, double leg, spladle, and chicken wing.

Fireman

The fireman is a move where you jump from your feet to both knees in between your opponent’s legs while pulling their arm to your chest. I see it as a low-risk high reward kind of move because if you don’t succeed at hitting the move you have other options such as the low single or a high crotch and many other possibilities. Usually, to set up my fireman I will go with an inside grip or a two on one.

Single leg

When talking about a single leg it’s hard to explain it a specific way because there are so many variations you can do. When learning wrestling this will usually be one of the first moves you will learn if not the first move you learn. I think it is one of the most important moves to learn because it is used at a low level and very high levels. My favorite set up for the single-leg would be from the two on one.

Double leg

I like the double leg because it is probably the most basic, yet one of the most effective moves in wrestling. There are many ways to do a double leg. I personally like staying on my feet hitting it from the side and sweeping their legs up with my arms. Since there are many variations of the double leg almost everyone does it a little differently. The move is also taught differently which means you will see many different and creative setups for this move.

Spladle

I love the spladle mainly because it is just a really fun move to do. It is very risky yet also very effective. That is why you should only use this move in an emergency situation such as time running out or last chance defence. If you miss the spladle you will most likely fall to your stomach and give up two points, but if you hit the spladle you will get four points and most likely a pin.

Chicken wing

The chicken wing is my favourite ground move. I like it because it is a hard move to stop, but if they manage to stop it they will usually open up for me to hit it on the other side or will open up other possibilities. If you do hit a chicken wing it will be very successful because you can turn them and go for the pin and if they get out of the pin bring them back to their stomach and roll through the other way getting another 2.

I chose these five moves because they are all very effective moves and moves that i use frequently. These were my 5 favourite but i know everyone’s style is unique and i wanna hear your top five favourite wrestling moves in the comments.
