First day of Summer Jobs 2021

It's been more than one year since we released our last newsletter.

A lot has happened since then.

Between the pandemic, school closures and wrestling put on hold, BTS had to adapt and re-imagine its programming to ensure we continued to support youth with vital services that promote physical, emotional and mental wellbeing at a time when they need it most. And we've been fortunate and resilient enough to do just that. We adapted and developed new programs into no-contact and online formats and have served more than 2,700 students since August 2020.

We are especially delighted to announce that in March of this year, Beat the Streets became an official charity with the purpose of advancing the education of low-income children and youth.

We'd like to share this incredible journey we have been on with you. In this latest edition of our extra big newsletter, you can read about:

  • Our evolution since 2019

  • New programs & impacts

  • Work It (summer jobs) perspectives

  • Spotlight on BTS coaches & volunteers

  • What's coming up next

Thank you to all the participants, friends and supporters we have worked with since 2014. We are excited about our new direction, our new status, the impacts our new programs are having and the future of BTS.

I hope you enjoy reading the newsletter and seeing that even in a pandemic, together, we can encourage confident, resilient and active youth who dream big.

Sincerely,
Neal Ewers
Executive Director
