BTST female wrestlers at Harvard University training camp

Two weeks ago, we took a group of four girls to a very special training camp at Harvard University. Thanks to Jacque Davis and her colleagues who organized a series of training camps at five of the Ivy League Universities in the USA in the Eastern part of the country.

These training camps were established to help promote the sport of women’s wrestling to Ivy League Universities.

There are many universities in the states where women are taking on the challenge to start a female wrestling team and they are met with challenges.

This camp was to help move the needle forward and to help them with those challenges. It was an amazing trip, the girls loved it, and it was great to see them enjoy the whole experience of interacting with some of the best female wrestlers in the eastern United States. This camp hosted wrestlers from 10 different states and the sessions were very challenging. But the biggest benefit in my opinion was the interaction the girls had amongst each other talking and learning from each other and growing from the experience.

Not to mention seeing the awe of the Harvard campus. They spoke about many things, they shared their struggles, they spoke about their goals, what universities they wanted to attend, and they spoke about their lifestyles. Our girls expressed to me that they had a newfound drive to excel in the sport and to build the sport up and make it as popular as they can.

They are now willing to do their part to grow the sport of women's Wrestling and for that reason alone this trip was worth the long drive. It gives me hope for the growth of female wrestling and I look forward to seeing our girls attend the Ivy League schools in the future.
