Places worth visiting in around Toronto

Say hello to blog 5. For the last few weeks, I’ve been working on this 6 blogs series which included advice to post-secondary students, homemade skincare recipes, easy recipes to make at home, and an interview with post-secondary students.

This blog is about places to visit in Toronto. For the people that are moving to Toronto either for school or whatever the situation may be, I hope you enjoy this.

1.     Scarborough bluffs (free entry, pay for parking)

a.     located at 1 Brimley Rd S, Scarborough

                                               i.     great spot for a day at the beach. It also has several hiking trails that you can explore. I am yet to explore one of those trails, but I hear that they are magnificent. There’s parking on-site and it also is accessible by TTC but only during beach season do the busses go inside the park.

2.     Toronto island (free entry, pay for the ferry)

a.     Located at 9 queen’s quay west, Toronto

                                               i.     Probably my favorite place to go during the summer. you start off the journey by taking a ferry which will take you to the island. Then there are attractions for kids, a walkway where you can take pictures either on the bridge or next to the fountains. There are also beaches but I’ve never been. Lastly, my favorite thing, the pier, where you just sit and watch the beautiful view. There are food places inside and washrooms. It is also a beautiful place for a picnic

3.     Canada’s Wonderland (pay for entry and parking)

a.     Located at 1 Canada’s wonderland drive, Vaughan

                                               i.     If you’re looking for attractions, go there. They’re open all summer long, during Halloween they have Halloween haunt and during the winter, they have Winterfest. It’s totally worth it in my opinion if you’re looking to distress and are not scared of rides. There are rides for adults and kids and let’s not forget the water park which is usually included in the admission price. There are plenty of food places inside the park as well as washrooms and water fountains.

4.     Niagara Falls (free, pay for parking, and pay for the attractions)

a.     Located at 6650 Niagara Parkway. (River Rd) Niagara Falls

                                               i.     This place is probably the coolest place I’ve ever visited. There’s horseshoe falls which is the main attraction there. You can visit the fall from under or you can take a boat ride and at night, the falls light up. Not too far from the falls, on Clifton hill, there’s also a whole bunch of attractions. you can ride the Ferris wheel, visit haunted houses, go to the arcades, go karting and so many more. There’s plenty of food places around and plenty of parking space. It is also accessible by the Go train or the Go bus. You can also take a trip to the state’s side of the falls, just bring your passport.

5.     Casa Loma (pay for entry)

a.     1 Austin Terrace, Toronto

I’ve never been to this place, but I hope to go someday. It is basically a castle that is now a museum. It has a couple of restaurants with really good ratings and during the Halloween season, they have this event called the legend of horror. It is accessible by car or by TTC as it is situated in the middle of downtown not too far from the University of Toronto

This is the end of my blog. thank you for reading and I hope you visit one if not all of those places. see you soon!!
