Beat The Streets Summer Camp Team

Hello everyone,

As you may or may not know, this year Beat The Streets started their first-ever wrestle 4 fun summer camp. Last week was training week for the counselors and we had the pleasure of having Dejah Slater come in to show us the ropes as she herself was one of the Wrestle 4 Fun coaches during the school year.

Who are we:

Before I get into more details, I would like to present to you the 2021 summer camp team. You can also check out our bios to learn more about us.

What do we do and how do we do it:

The summer camp program is delivered through zoom while we (the counsellors) are at the home office running it. We split our group into 2 teams and in each team, 1 person is responsible for the Social Emotional Learning ( SEL) and the other person leads the workouts.

Some of the wrestling moves that we include in our sessions are:

  • practicing our stance

  • sprawls

  • double-leg

  • single leg

  • High crotch

  • down blocks

We also will be posting updates on social media throughout the camp so stay tuned.

Big shoutout to coach Dejah, you rock!!
