How AI Language Models Can Help Charities Like Beat the Streets

Introducing ChatGPT!

Artificial intelligence for charities, youth development charity, advancing education of low-income youth in Toronto

This is Jessica from Beat the Streets (I'm actually writing this myself ;). I wanted to demonstrate how Beat the Streets, a youth development charity encouraging active, healthy and resilient youth in the Greater Toronto Area incorporates tools like ChatGPT to improve our capacity and impact.

We are a small organization with limited staff. For example, we rely heavily on our talented volunteers and summer job students to help support our blog and social media efforts. Without them, we can't find the time to update our content regularly.

However, with ChatGPT, and other AI programs, we can use them to develop engaging and informative content for our blog and social media much more efficiently, which leaves us more time to focus on programming and fundraising, allowing us to continue delivering sports, social-emotional and job skill-building programs for low-income youth. For instance, our process includes asking ChatGPT to help us create a structure and headings. We then research information for our post and instruct ChatGPT on the tone and what we want to highlight. After a few revisions, fact-checking and editing, our post is ready to publish.

In case you haven't tried it yet, or wondering what it's all about, I thought it would be fun to let ChatGPT take over as a guest author and demonstrate ways it can help non-profits and charities improve efficiency and effectiveness.
